PT DSSR Daya Mas Sakti and FirstGen Geothermal Indonesia Join Forces to Drive Indonesia’s Clean Energy Transformation

Jakarta, 31 October 2025 – PT DSSR Daya Mas Sakti (“DSSR”), a subsidiary of PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (“DSSA”), part of Sinar Mas, has entered into a Shareholders’ Agreement with PT FirstGen Geothermal Indonesia, a subsidiary of Energy Development Corporation (“EDC”)—part of First Gen Corporation (“First Gen”), the largest renewable energy producer in the Philippines.

This follows the partnership agreement signed by both parties in August 2025, marking the beginning of a collaboration aimed at transferring global expertise, enhancing domestic capacity, and unlocking Indonesia’s vast geothermal potential in support of the country’s energy transition agenda.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Indonesia’s journey toward sustainable energy through the establishment of PT Daya Mas Bumi Sentosa (“DMBS”), which will lead geothermal exploration and development activities across various regions in Indonesia. Through DMBS, DSSR and FirstGen will focus on developing geothermal projects across Indonesia, with a combined potential of approximately 440 megawatts in six strategic locations — West Java, Flores, Jambi, West Sumatra, and Central Sulawesi.

“Our collaboration with FirstGen goes beyond capital investment—it is about building Indonesia’s capability to lead in geothermal energy,” said Lokita Prasetya, President Director of PT DSSR Daya Mas Sakti and Vice President Director and Managing Director of Energy and Chemical Business of PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk. “By combining EDC’s international and development experience, we are laying the groundwork for a stronger, more resilient clean energy ecosystem that benefits communities and supports Indonesia’s long-term sustainability goals.”

A Shared Commitment to Sustainable Growth

EDC, through PT FirstGen Geothermal Indonesia, views the partnership as an opportunity to extend its global leadership in geothermal energy into Indonesia’s dynamic renewable energy landscape. Recognized as the world’s largest vertically integrated geothermal company, EDC brings proven technical expertise, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship.

“EDC is honored to join forces with DSSR in bringing our geothermal expertise to Indonesia,” said Jerome H. Cainglet, President and COO of Energy Development Corporation (EDC). “Together, we aim to accelerate the country’s renewable energy transition through projects that not only generate clean power but also transfer knowledge, build capacity, and create lasting value for the Indonesian energy sector.”

The partnership directly supports the Government of Indonesia’s commitment to expand renewable energy adoption and achieve net zero emissions by 2060. By developing geothermal energy—one of the country’s most promising renewable resources—DSSR and FirstGen reaffirm their dedication to advancing sustainable power generation and strengthening Indonesia’s energy independence.
